Dr. Zimmerman co-author on newly published expert practice recommendations from ASRA-PM

We’re excited to share that Dr. Zimmerman is a co-author on a newly published narrative review and expert practice recommendations from the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA-PM).

The publication focuses on the use of gastric point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to assess aspiration risk in medically complex patients undergoing regional anesthesia and pain procedures—an area where standard fasting guidelines often fall short.

This work represents an important step toward safer, more individualized care, and lays the foundation for future research and guideline development.
